My Sari Sari Store

Posted: January 25, 2011 in Photos, Reviews

A very good friend of mine Sidney Snoeck is running a photo blog about the Philippines, my home country. Whenever Sidney adds something on his blog, it always fascinates me as he is able to paint the pictures and captures each and every emotions so well. I have learned so much about my country through his site. Mind you, I have never explored Philippines in my long 25 years of stay. I do promise to make it a point though, that whenever I am given the chance to go on vacation, that I will go and visit places that I have never explored.

If you have the time, please drop by his blog and check it out.

My Sari Sari Store

All the best Sid, and great work my friend. The set you have ongoing now particularly touched me, I tell this to my children whenever they complain about not having this and not having that. Even though my son is only 10 and my daughter is only 3, they truly understand because they see the images and they see how it’s like to be there. My son even pointed out a kid in his barefoot.

Tim Burton Lost his Muchness

Posted: March 28, 2010 in Reviews

Well first of all, I might be a little late for my review as some of you may have seen the movie already. Oh well, I’ll state my thoughts anyways.

Growing up, I have read Alice in Wonderland. Some of you may agree that it’s the best children’s story ever made. Adding to the fact that Tim Burton, Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway and of course the ever so charming Mia Wasikowska, it’s impossible for people to pass this movie up. However, this movie is more than a spectacle than a story. It excelled in production design and acting performances. The added touch of 3D seem to be just the biggest fuzz about it. Although I would agree that the costumes were adapted very well from the original drawings and such. My daughter seemed to love it though, but wouldn’t put on her 3D glasses, she was busy munching on her pop corn and was amazed by the smiling cat. Leif had no reaction, I’m not sure if he was amazed by it, bored or whatever, I’ll ask his thoughts tomorrow. He was exhausted and went straight to bed as soon as we got home.

It was a visually impressive movie, it kind of delivered, but not to my expectations. It’s fun for kids that don’t usually go for the story line but for the effects that come out of it. I gave it a 4 out of 5.

What’s the hype all about?

Posted: January 28, 2010 in Reviews

I’m sure you all know what I’m referring to.. Nothing else but the all new Apple iPad. I for myself don’t foresee myself getting one.

My internet needs are met quite well, I have an iPhone, and a Macbook, not to mention my PC which is sitting in the computer room collecting dust. I spend an hour of commute underground and don’t have any 3G connection which totally wastes my 6gb data plan from my phone company. Heck, I can’t even use a quarter of my allotted monthly data. If only I can share my data plan with someone, I’ll be surely glad to. Reading the reviews from the experts, it just doesn’t make sense to me getting another device that will add more to my bills.

So without further a do, here is a video to make your day.

But on a serious note, take some time and think about it before going out and purchasing this one. My opinion would be, add a couple more dollars and get a Macbook instead. That’s just my $0.02.
